Editorial
(this is a pre-test listing based on reasonable expectation of battery, screen and imaging performance) This is a meaningful update of very good Edge 60 Pro. 70 Pro became wider but brings better performance, bigger battery and a more powerful imaging setup that includes a proper 50MP periscope telephoto. This phone punches above it's weight in imaging performance. Too bad Motorola supply chain struggles to deliver globally.
PROs
excellent non-slippery build, very good (SD 8 Gen 3-like) Dimensity 8500 Extreme performance with UFS 4.1, >42hr endurance from a 6500mAh Si-C battery with fast sub-60min 90W (15W wireless) charging, >1500nits 450ppi 144Hz fluid AMOLED screen, IP69 + Military drop protection, some excellent imaging from a 50MP 24mm OIS main + new 50MP 81mm OIS periscope telephoto + 50MP 12mm ultrawide (all with PDAF), very good 50MP AF selfie, excellent stock-like version of Android with tons of useful features Motorola is known for, excellent desktop replacement functionality,
CONs
grew 2.5mm in width (harder to handle one-hand), no LTPO or HDR10+ tech screen, no expandable memory, short OS update policy (3 years), slow USB-C 2.0 port, annoyingly some features are "market dependant" - check before you buy
